Innovation award

The innovation award of the EITB (TV and Radio Broadcasting network of the Basque Autonomous Community) takes place within the “Basque Business Date” a yearly event that underlines the work carried out by companies. There are three awards: Innovation Award, Euskal Manager Award and Lifetime Business Achievement Award.

The jury responsible for selecting the winner, underlined the following aspects in ORONA's development:

  • the creation and consolidation of the Technology Centre Orona eic (Elevator Innovation Centre), the obtaining of the Eco-design Certification in 2008 and being pioneers in the elevation sector worldwide
  • the leadership in the Net0Lift Project (strategic innovation project to develop highly sustainable elevation systems)
  • and the recent startup of the Orona Innovation and Promotion Center as a network innovation experience with a focus on applied research applied between the Company, R&D and Technology Centres and University.

Businessman of the year

Javier Mutuberria received the “Businessman of the Year” award in Donostia-San Sebastian from the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa during the 18th Edition of Awards to the Industry of Gipuzkoa, which recognises the work of businessmen/businesswomen and companies as generators of well-being and employment in Gipuzkoa.

The jury highlighted the work of Javier Mutuberria and his great capacity for leadership , with a highly hands-on management focus, a capacity for innovation in difficult times and his early management of diversification in international activities.

When receiving the award, Javier Mutuberria drew attention to the Orona the slogan Reaching Further Together

AEDIPE-HUMAN(HR) award

For its decisive investment in individual ability and innovation, together with a clear vocation for customer service and a solid position in ever more international markets.

The award was given by AEDIPE (Spanish Management and Personnel Development Association), at its 45th Congress, attended by over 600 directors and international human resource experts.

For ORONA this recognition is a source of pride and an incentive to continue working every day with greater focus and involvement in training people, and integrating the growing number of people from different cultures into our social entrepreneurial project.
